BURIEN, Washington -- July 18, 2005 -- On tonight's broadcast of iGame Radio, the Mac gaming radio program, host Omaha Sternberg talks with Jesse Simko of Sawblade Software about the recently released Power Game Factory. Omaha will also muse on the legality and ethicality of the buying and selling in-game items in real-time. Plus, a review of Commandos Battle Pack by Feral Interactive.
Jesse Simko is the head of Sawblade Software, a small game development company out of Connecticut that just recently released Power Game Factory, a game development tool for the 2D environment. We'll talk with Jesse about Power Game Factory and about what Sawblade Software has for the Mac community in the future.
Recently, Sony Online Entertainment announced that it would open a new service called Station Exchange for Everquest that would facilitate the buying and selling of in-game items. Considering that SOE has for years held a ban against this sort of thing, it's been quite a shock that they are now embracing it. With other commercial sites popping up that are also in the economics of in-game item trade and recent studies done on the subject, what affect does this have on in-game play? Does it mean only the wealthy can have fun?
Commandos Battle Pack is a combo of the long awaited Commandos 2 and Commandos 3 for the Mac, released by Feral Interactive http://www.feralinteractive.com/.
Omaha will also offer Mac gaming news and commentary, and together with her guest will take questions live from listeners in the iGame Radio chat room (AIM/iChat room name "iGameRadio").
iGame Radio can be heard live on MacRadio from 6 to 7:30 pm Pacific Time, 9 to 10:30 pm Eastern (Tuesday from 0200 to 0330 UTC), and on demand thereafter.
